Dougj

Doug Jevning

President

Doug is a Level II Alpine Canada official and was the Alpine Chair of the Whistler Mountain Ski Club. Doug began skiing at age 5 in the days of lace-up boots and bear-trap bindings; truly the Dark Ages. He raced competitively as a youngster and progressed to ski instructing as a member of the CSIA both in Alberta and in Vail. Eventually he decided that time spent actually skiing down the hill was more fun than teaching others to ski and made his way to University leading to his graduation from the University of Alberta Law School in 1985. Since that time he has practiced criminal law in Vancouver when not pursuing his other passions including skiing, ski racing, fly-fishing and improving a poor golf game. Doug and his wife Dale are parents to Davis, a former athlete at the Club. All three of them live in North Vancouver, with their golden retriever Scout, spending as much time as possible in Whistler.

Bernard Leroux

Vice President

Bernard Leroux is currently employed at Haywood Securities Inc. in the position of Vice President. Leroux is also an investment advisor with the Retail Sales team at the Vancouver office of Haywood Securities. Bernard has a Bachelor of Applied Science from L’Universite d’Ottawa, and is a professional engineer.

Bernard along with his wife and two children are long time, passionate supporters of skiing and ski racing in Whistler. Both children were successful competitive alpine FIS racers and have worked hard to balance their school with their love of the sport. Privately, through his vision and initiatives, Bernard has raised large amounts of funding and has significantly increased the profile of ski racing in Whistler, British Columbia and all across Canada.

Upon completing his MBA at UBC in 1989, Stan vowed he would one day return to the mountains. It took this ‘rope tow trained" Western and UBC grad 20 years to return, following investment banking and corporate development postings in Toronto, London, NYC, and CT. A fixture ’on course’ since 2010. Stan has been actively involved with volunteer training and, most recently, with the WMSC club coaches’ cabin rezoning initiative.
